“IN LINE” PETROL FUEL FILTER

The petrol fuel filter protects the engine supply system (carburettor or injector) by eliminating any impurities from the fuel. Filtered fuel thus helps to increase engine performance and service life.

The design of the fuel filter is particularly important. The choice of the fuel filtration medium must meet two requirements.

It must provide a sufficiently high filtration threshold to protect the injectors, in other words by systematically stopping a spectrum of harmful particles with sizes ranging from 5 to 20 µm

It must also maintain filtration performance over time thanks to high contaminant retention levels, without pressure drop due to blockage of the media thereby affecting the fuel supply to the injection system.

Working hand-in-hand with the major automobile manufacturers in the world, Filtrauto has developed a product range with a minimum service life of 60,000 km. This performance is out-standing considering the small size of the filters. Sophisticated test facilities are used for characterizing performance.

In addition, operational requirements related to the periodic replacement of the filter have been covered by adopting lines capable of accommodating “quick” connections, so that the filter can be removed without tools and with maximum reliability.

Furthermore, the inclusion of a collar at the end of the filter body serves as a reliable locating device when a new filter is assembled.

Safety is covered too, because the housing of the aluminum filter will
deform without any loss of fuel in the event of a serious accident.
Results of crash tests, carried out by the most demanding clients have proved the validity of the design.

To ensure a high level of filter performance and quality, Filtrauto uses a fully-automatic high performance assembly facility. Each part is individually tested so that it meets the safety requirements for the product.
